The A’ Department of Propaedeutic Surgery considers the integration of novel technologies and the implementation of molecular profiling of prognostic biomarkers as a necessity for the improvement of the currently existing surgical and therapeutic tools in several clinical entities, including common and rare types of primary and metastatic cancers and sepsis.
Therefore, within the Department the homonymous Internal Laboratory of Experimental Surgery was set up in 1999 (FEK: Α'17 / 08-02-1999 and subsequently B1 / 17−12−2004 & Β'1750 / 05-11-2010). Since its establishment, the Laboratory of Experimental Surgery represents the research and innovation unit of the Department, providing scientific and laboratory support for the implementation of research projects (dissertations, PhD thesis, Postdoctoral Fellowships) and clinical protocols under and supervision of the Academic Staff.
